A couple of nice old stucco buildings in Baltimore.
What attracted me to this building was these cool chimneys. Note the drip lip at the top.
Details are portland cement, not foam like new
houses and shopping centers.
Bands, coins and other details were formed and
filled with cement. The workmanship here is superb.
I guess this building was built about 1915.
A view of the same building. Baltimore has
long been famous for it's plastering, as well as
Annapolis, Maryland, the state capital.
Another old apartment building, with interesting
cement arches and insets. There are thousands
of nice old stucco buildings here. More about
the history of stucco in Baltimore next issue.
