We have a textured coat stucco exterior home.We don’t like the textured
look. Is it possible to re-stucco directly over the textured finish and
try to achieve a smooth finish stucco?
You can coat over the old
stucco with a
new finish coat provided the surface is
porous
(unpainted) and is rough (which it is).
A bonding admixture can
be added to the new color
coat to ensure a permanent bond. We have
done
it a lot.
It is important you find experienced people
to
do this,
or it may be uglier or end up falling off
within
a couple short
years.
