Who could build a house like this ?

Badly deteriorated metal lath on this exterior stucco installation.

.

The one coat stucco on this house was done in 2011, 15 years ago. We work on old houses built in 1910 where the lath is still shiny like brand new.

Metal lath is badly rusted on this 15 year old house in Northern Virginia.

There was a lot of cheap Chinese lath circulating about 2004, which rusted out quickly. This may have been Chinese lath, or lath made for interior use. The major manufacturers quit making interior lath about 50 years ago, and only made galvanized. I am positive this rust is accelerated by leaky windows. The backwards water table sill deflecting water behind the stones is probably rotting out the framing.

New house is rotting in Northern Virginia.

This is an obviously an expensive house. I am sure the windows leak. The EIFS details above and below the windows absorb and trap water. The balconies, patios, etc. are level, allowing standing water to run into the house. The patios on old houses in Washington, DC are sloped to drain water.
